On Friday, April 20th we hosted a party at Nine Mile Creek to honor and thank our volunteers. Candy McDonald was awarded our Volunteer of the Year Award and Judy Kingery was awarded an Exceptional Service Award. Both were much deserved! Thanks to all our volunteers!

Today more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. In addition, 78 million baby boomers are approaching the age of greatest risk for developing this fatal disease. We have hope for a better future, and we are asking for your help.
This year, Nine Mile Creek Senior Living is participating with Ebenezer Management in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to END Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research, and funds we raise will go directly toward supporting their efforts.
How can you help?
1. Sponsor a walker. Talk to Mary Blazanin, Director of Leisure Events about sponsoring one of the staff who are participating in the walk. You can sponsor by the mile or simply make a one-time tax-deductable donation.
2. Purchase a Chocolate Pretzel Stick for $2 or a “Walk in My Shoes” Memorial Shoe (decorated by our own Memory Care residents) for $10 at the Nine Mile Creek front desk. All proceeds go directly to the fundraiser.
3. Make a Direct Donation. Visit the Alzheimer’s Association website at: www.walktoendalz.kintera.org/twincities/ebenezer to donate online.
4. Be a Walker. If you would like to join our team and Walk to END Alzheimers, go to www.alz.org/walk, and sign up on the Ebenezer Team.

Looking for a great way to beat the heat? Join us at the Nine Mile Creek Senior Living Ice Cream Social this Friday, June 10th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Come build your own sundae, listen to the musical stylings of the Easy Living Barbershop Quartet and meet friends both old and new!
Thank you to everyone who attended our Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for the Bloomington Fire Department on May 17. The Fire Department even brought a fire truck to the event. Everyone feasted on spaghetti with bread, salad and homemade cookies and helped raise money for this important organization. Thank you!
The Nine Mile Creek Senior Living One Year Anniversary Party was a smashing success! Great music, food, games and prizes. We had close to 100 guests from Bloomington and the surrounding community – two guests reserved their NEW apartment home at the event! The Nine Mile Creek Senior Living family continues to grow…full of life, laughter and love.
